Greenwich school Honors Volunteers More than 400 supporters of Westchester Fairfield Hebrew Academy (WFHA) enjoyed a festive evening of dinner and dancing at the school's annual Erev Tov fundraiser on March 15 at Temple Sholom in Greenwich. Several parent volunteers, including Stacey and Elias Saal, Elana Berle, Aviva Maller, and Doreen and Howard Nusbaum were honored at the celebration, which focused on the theme of "building community." "They truly reflect the school's commitment to Klal Yisrael (Jewish community,)" said head of school Nora Anderson in paying tribute to the honorees. WFHA Board President David Messer took advantage of his turn at the podium to express optimism for the future of the school, which began its second decade at the start of this academic year. "In the midst of a challenging external environment, our school continues to make great strides in both its educational program and its management structure that I believe will stand it in good stead for decades to come," Messer said. Messer highlighted several of this year's achievements including the middle school's first place finish at a recent international science competition, and the fact that 60 percent of WFHA's third through eighth graders qualified for the esteemed Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth national talent search.
