Westchester Fairfield Hebrew Academy names new middle school principal
Einhorn joined the school's Educational Leadership Team this summer, hailing from Miami, Fla., where she spent 21 years at Greenfield Day School, a K-8 community day school. In Miami she was the middle school director and lead teacher of science. Prior to her time at Greenfield Day School, Einhorn spent more than a decade as an elementary school teacher, coordinating reading, math and science programs. "Her extensive middle school and elementary expertise, coupled with her role as lead science teacher, is a wonderful match for WFHA," said Head of School Nora Anderson. "Her successes are well known and highly respected in the Jewish day school arena. Marc Kramer, the executive director of RAVSAK, The Jewish Community Day School Network, describes Sue as a 'brilliant educator' whose high standards in education are evident by her impressive tenure in Miami." Einhorn holds a B.S. in education from Pennsylvania State University and a M.A. in Judaic studies from the Laura and Alvin Siegal College of Judaic Studies in Cleveland, Oh. Over the years, she has taught and generated curricula for science, math and world history. As the middle school director she organized and coordinated experiential career day workshops for teens, and developed evaluative protocols for middle school teacher and student assessment. "As an educator for the past 32 years -- passionate about working in the field of Jewish education -- I am honored to be given the opportunity to work with the exceptional faculty and staff at WFHA," Einhorn said. "My goal is to promote opportunities for students to work toward their greatest learning potential. I am looking forward to greeting students and parents personally during the first weeks of school." Within the larger Miami Jewish community Einhorn was actively involved in her local Hadassah chapter, chairing its Fundraising Campaign in 2002. She received the Woman of the Year Award in 1999 and the Hadassah National Leadership Award in 1998. Einhorn and her husband, Scott, relocated to Stamford this past summer. |
