"The Rescuers" screens May 12 at Mandell JCC



"The Rescuers" will screen at the Mandell JCC on May 5.

On Thursday, May 12, 7 p.m., the Mandell JCC will host a special community screening of “The Rescuers,” a new film documenting the remarkable deeds of 13 courageous international diplomats who defied the orders of their governments to help save more than 200,000 European Jews during World War II. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with executive producer Joyce Mandell and director Michael King. The documentary has already garnered awards at several film festivals. It was the selected film presentation at the NAACP Image Awards held recently in Los Angeles.
