Carrie Berman joins Hartford’s commission on Jewish education

West Hartford – Carrie Berman of West Hartford has been appointed coordinator of educational services for the Commission on Jewish Education and Leadership (CJEL) of the Jewish Federation.  Berman will work closely with Jewish educators in greater Hartford, providing multi-faceted professional development opportunities that include a professional development grants program, on-going workshops, network-building initiatives, and consultations with educational leaders.
An experienced educator in the areas of both Jewish and general education, Berman is currently a student teacher Supervisor for the University of Connecticut and serves on the faculties of Beth El Temple Religious School and Yachad Community High School. She previously served as adjunct instructor in social studies education in the New York University School of Education.  Long active in communal affaris, she serves as president of the board of Learning Disabilities Association of Connecticut.
“I am very excited to be joining CJEL,” said Berman. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with other Jewish educators, and to supporting their efforts to create new, innovative and engaging Jewish learning experiences for students throughout the greater Hartford Jewish community.”
