Bernard Reisman

Bernard Reisman, 85, formerly of Newton, Mass. died Nov. 21 at the Bedford VA Hospital after many years of coping with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was the husband of Elaine (Sokol) Reisman. He was a professor at Brandeis University, director of the Hornstein Program, and founder of the Brandeis Adult Learning Institute (BOLLI). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Joel and Debby Reisman of Newton, Sharon and Stephen Conway of Hartford, Eric and Sheryl Cooper Reisman of Baltimore, Md., and Robin and Richard Maltz of Newton; his grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, Nomi, Kayla, Lianna, Rachel, Lily and Jeremy; his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Harriet Reisman of Bayside, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Memorial observance is at the Conway residence on Sunday, Nov. 27 from 1-5 pm; and at the Maltz residence, Thursday and Saturday, 7-9 pm, Friday 1-3pm, Sunday 2-5 pm.
