Friendship Circle Connecticut: Celebrating special friends

Brenda Winn, Jamie Roland, Brooke Goldsmith and Lauren Goldman of Hartford’s Friendship Circle

Friendship Circle Connecticut concluded its fourth year on June 10 with a final celebration in which teen volunteers, their parents and special needs buddies spoke about the Chabad of Greater Hartford program that reaches out to children, teens and young adults with special needs, involving them in a full range of Judaic and social experiences. “Friendship Circle has given me so much,” said teen volunteer Brenda Winn. “It’s given me lenses to view these wonderful kids through; it’s given me a way to celebrate Jewish holidays with my family, and above all, it’s given me a wonderful opportunity to meet some amazing people.” Donna Cohen, whose daughter, Rachael, participates in group events, told those in attendance that “Friendship Circle has not only been a blessing for Rachael but for our family. [We] have come to be part of
a community through Friendship Circle.”
