On stage in Westport

Accompanying Jake on piano were two accomplished and nationally-recognized young musicians from Westport, Danielle Merlis on cello (seated here at the piano) and Samuel Weiser (center) on violin.

Two-hundred and fifty guests enjoyed “On a Chai Note: A Musical Celebration of Israel” — the first event hosted by The Conservative Synagogue’s (TCS) Jewish Cultural Arts Council on June 3. The series is intended to bring Jewish performers and artists to the Westport, Weston and Wilton communities. A highlight of the evening was the world premiere of a choral work on the piano by TCS member, the talented young composer and pianist Jake Landau (right), a junior at Staples High School in Stamford.
