Sigel Hebrew Academy elects new officers

BLOOMFIELD – The Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy in Bloomfield has elected new officers to serve for the next two years. Additionally, the school appointed four new individuals to its board of directors.
“We are so pleased to have such dedicated volunteers,” said Rabbi Mordechai Weiss, the school’s principal. “These individuals are providing a vital service to our children, our school, and our community.”
Incoming officers are Elana Doron, President; Vice Presidents Bruce Brenner, David Glahn, and Matthew Braunshweiger; George Levine, Treasurer; and Mark Zackin, Corporate Secretary.
“The Hebrew Academy is a wonderful place. I’ve been a parent in the school for 14 years, and it’s given my children excellent educations in both general and Judaic studies,” said Doron. “It’s an honor to be able to give back.”
Doron, who is a member of Beth David Synagogue in West Hartford, is an application development consultant at United HealthCare. She previously served as the school’s corporate secretary and has been a member of the school’s board of directors.
The school also appointed four new individuals to its board of directors: Bruce Adelstein, David Glahn, George Levine, and Isaac Moss.
“The Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy is such an important part of our community,” said Dr. Moss. “It’s been serving greater Hartford and its children for 72 years. I’m excited to help it succeed for another 72.”
