Keeping Israeli children safe

On July 26, Deborah Budd of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) stopped by The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford, to accept a significant donation from the Emanuel Brotherhood and Rabbi David Small for the benefit of the Indoor Recreation Center in Sderot – the town in southern Israel that has been for several years the target of relentless rocket assaults from neighboring Gaza. The Center was built to withstand these incoming missiles and allows the children of the town’s 25,000 residents to play safely – though, even on beautiful days, the children must stay indoors. In recognition of this donation, JNF will place a permanent plaque in American Independence Park, overlooking Jerusalem.
