Teens Stand in Support of Israel

JT Connection(Greater Hartford, CT) – After listening to author/teacher/poet Danny Siegel talk about making a difference in the world, students at the Jewish Teen Leaning Connection (JTConnect) decided to take a stand in support of Israel – and they did just that on Monday evening, Nov. 26., as the battle between Israel and Hamas still waged. Through the magic of Youtube and Facebook, teens heard from JTConnect graduates Nadav Chatinover and Micah Fiedler, West Hartford teens currently studying in Israel, who talked about what it was like to live through the recent Israel/Hamas conflict. Greater Hartford’s Israeli Young Emissaries, Ido Goldstein and Yuval Malchi, also spoke with the teens, describing what it is like to be in America when many of their friends are currently in the army. Taking action, the teens wrote letters to their senators and representatives asking them to support Israel, as well as encouraging messages to Israel’s “lone soldiers”. “It was touching to see how connected our teens felt to Israel and their willingness to support others from across the world,” said JTConnect Executive Director Heather Fiedler.
