Polina Fridman, who is a marketing associate at the Stamford JCC, won third place in the JCC Association photo contest for her photo of Rose Santos as she took part in a JCC senior adult exercise class.
“I work at the JCC as a graphic designer and photographer, so whenever something special is going on in the facility, I grab my camera and take pictures,” says Fridman. “This photo was taken at a chair exercise class at the Senior Health Fare on Oct. 16, 2012 – which is also my birthday, so maybe that brought me luck!”
Fridman says she uploaded about 40 photos from a variety of JCC events involving both children and adults, and entered them in the contest. When the JCCA chose the Santos photo, Fridman was surprised.
“If one of my photos won, I expected it to be one of the kids’ pictures,” she explains. “But then I realized that this picture represents exactly what we stand for at the JCC; a community for everyone, offering fun and engaging programs and enhancing the quality of life.”
