Robert B. Birnbaum, z”l, 87, of West Hartford, died March 31. He was the husband of the late Burnette Birnbaum. Born in New Britain, he was the son of Nathan and Dora Birnbaum. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his children, Michael Birnbaum of West Hartford, and Laura Klein and her husband Robert Klein of West Hartford; his grandchildren, Rebecca and Jason Klein; his brothers, Milton Birnbaum and his wife Ruth of Palm Beach, Fla., David Birnbaum and his wife Fayna of New Britain, and Sidney Birnbaum and his partner Tony Pontecorvo of Fairfield; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Hershkovitz of Boca Raton, Fla., Ruth Hershkovitz and Joyce Birnbaum of West Hartford; his brother-in-law Fred Rosenbush; and his special companion Ellie Young. He was also predeceased by his brother Leslie Birnbaum and his sister Gloria Rosenbush.
