Academy Award winning actor Robert De Niro arrived in Israel this week to celebrate the 90th birthday of Israel’s President Shimon Peres. De Niro is one of many celebrities and dignitaries to join the birthday festivities and attend the annual Israeli Presidential Conference, which opened on Tuesday, June 18. Many of the celebratory events are taking place at Jerusalem’s International Convention Center, where thousands of invitees from around the globe are gathering to honor one of today’s most respected world leaders. Also in honor of President Peres, legendary singer Barbara Streisand is performing two concerts this week in Tel Aviv. This is De Niro’s fifth visit to Israel, who is accompanied on this trip by his 17-year-old son.
