Sherwin “Sonny” Welson, 84, of Longboat Key, Fla. and West Hartford, died August 25. He was the husband of Elinor (Stein) Welson. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Sima (Lifshitz) Welson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Cathy Welson and her husband Stephen Edberg, and Linda Rosenthal and her husband Robert; his grandchildren, Melissa Peracchio and her husband Mike, Jessica Markowitz, Nicole Markowitz, Zachary Markowitz, Benjamin Rosenthal, Elizabeth Rosenthal, and Daniel Rosenthal; his great-grandchild, Chase Peracchio; and his sister Shirley Diamond of Salem.
