Report: Israel a ‘priority target’ for U.S. intelligence

(Israel Hayom/Exclusive to JNS.org) A document leaked by National Security Agency whistle-blower Edward Snowden labels Israel as a “priority target” for U.S. spy agencies, according to a Washington Post report on Thursday, August 19. The Washington Post published parts of Snowden’s leaked and highly classified U.S. intelligence “black budget” file. The 178-page report details a budget that totals $52.6 billion. The report states that U.S. counterintelligence operations “are strategically focused against [the] priority targets of China, Russia, Iran, Cuba and Israel.”
