“Boundaries, Power & Interdependence: Building Functional Communities” was the topic of the Leadership Seminar at the Second Annual Saul Cohen-JFS Lecture, featuring guest speaker Esther Perel, author, psychotherapist, marriage counselor and an expert on cross-cultural relationships. Highlighted by an interactive workshop, attendees at the Nov. 7 event held in UConn Stamford’s GenRe Auditorium, represented a host of Jewish communal organizations from throughout lower Fairfield County, including: Temple Israel, Bi-Cultural Day School, Carmel Academy, Chavurat Am Echad, Congregation Beth El, Congregation Shir Ami, Hadassah Fairfield, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Services of Greenwich, Temple Beth El, Temple Sinai, UJA Federation of Greenwich, UJA/Federation Westport, Weston, Wilton, Norwalk, United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien, Congregation Agudath Sholom.

Following the Leadership Seminar, Perel spoke at the Community Lecture, where she captivated an audience of more than 200 people from the Greater Stamford

and Westport area – and stimulated a lively discussion – with her talk, “Inside the Jewish Family: Reconciling Commitments and Transgressions.”

Jewish Family Service of Stamford, New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Weston, Wilton and Norwalk organized the community-wide lecture, made possible by Mimi and Saul Cohen of Stamford.
