Schechter Scorpions show their sting

The Lady Scorpions basketball team of Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford

One point made all the difference for the Lady Scorpions, the Solomon Schechter of Greater Hartford girls basketball team.  The team racked up two big wins one recent week against Kingswood Oxford and the Mooreland Hill School – and both victories came down to one winning point made in the last minute of play. The Kingswood Oxford team was aggressive on both sides of the ball, but the Lady Scorpions wanted it more. With an offense lead by Lillie Pinette and Izzy Raviv – both high scorers in the game – the Lady Scorpions came out on top. The defense was led by Becca Gold and Olivia Rotter, both causing a team record of forced turnovers. The Mooreland Hill team was at least as tough – but the Lady Scorpions came back from a ten-point deficit to send the game into overtime. Ruth Nawy, Hannah Pliskin, and Liora Silverman were key offensive contributors, while Eden Raviv led the team in steals and forced turnovers.
