On Sunday morning, Feb. 2, more than 60 people gathered at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford to take part in World Wide Wrap 2014 – an annual event sponsored by the Conservative movement’s Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs to teach the mitzvah of wrapping tefillin. At a family education program open to the entire community, congregants versed in laying tefillin taught the skill to others. The learning session was followed by the morning service and breakfast. To support the wearing of tefillin, the Emanuel has started a fund to help those who could otherwise not afford it, to purchase a pair from The Emanuel Judaica Store.
