Beginning anew, in Israel

libmanWith his wife Hannah looking on, Berry Libman, 89, discards his cane and kisses the ground as he steps off a plane and onto the tarmac at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. The Libmans, residents of West Hartford since 1957, arrived in Israel on Tuesday, July 23, on the latest Nefesh B’Nefesh flight filled with new olim to the Jewish state. Hannah, 85, and Berry are living at an assisted living facility in Jerusalem, not far from the home of their daughter Marcia and son-in-law Shaya. Also living in Jerusalem are Marcia’s three sons – the Libman’s grandchildren – Ariel and his wife Yael, Koby and his wife Shifra, and Dani, and their six great-grandchildren. The Libman’s grandson, Chaim, and his wife Ahuva live in Beitar, with their children, Dina, Yitzchak, Devora and Mordecai. Chaim is the son of the Libman’s son Morrie and his wife Barbara, who live in New York.
