Two killed in Jerusalem attacks

(JNS.org) An Israel Defense Forces soldier was fatally shot in the stomach at Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus on Monday, August 4, just hours after a tractor driven by a Palestinian man ran over and killed a pedestrian in an apparent terrorist attack that also occurred in Jerusalem.

A suspected terrorist killed the soldier in a drive-by shooting on a motorcycle before fleeing the scene, according to reports. In the tractor assault, Muhammed Naif El-Ja’abis, an eastern Jerusalem resident identified as the driver, was shot dead by police after killing the pedestrian, identified as Rabbi Avraham Walz, a 29-year-old father of six. After killing Walz, the tractor headed toward a bus, which it then overturned.
