Emanuel Synagogue Chosen For Leadership Program

WEST HARTFORD – The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford is one of seven Conservative congregations in North America selected to participate in United Synagogues of Conservative Judaism’s Sulam for Current Leaders “Action Community” leadership development program. The new 12-month professional training program will guide the synagogue leaders through the process of creating compelling leadership vision and key strategies for its officers, board members, committee chairs and emerging leaders.

“Particularly since we have a number of younger, emerging lay leaders who are enthusiastic about becoming more involved and interested in gaining new knowledge and skills, we are delighted to have been chosen to participate in this new leadership development opportunity,” said Emanuel’s president, Ira Henowitz. “It is an optimum time for our 95-year young sacred community to join in the new training as we envision, plan and continue to build an ever stronger multi-generational  sacred Jewish community that 21st century Jews find inspiring, meaningful and purposeful.”
