JFS New Haven collects food for Hunger Action Month

September is National Hunger Action Month and Jewish Family Service of New Haven, Inc. is participating by collecting non-perishable food to stock its pantry shelves and  help feed the many local families in need of food assistance.

Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

JFS main office: Weekdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Fridays until 3 p.m.)
JFS Food Pantry: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. – noon
Helping Hands Community Thrift Store, 334 Boston Post Road, Orange
Helping Hands Community Thrift Store, 77 State Street, North Haven
JCC of Greater New Haven, 360 Amity Road, Woodbridge (in the shopping cart)

All types of non-perishable foods are needed, especially pasta, dry beans, and canned vegetables and soups.  No products past their expiration date, please. Those who bring canned and boxed non-perishable foods to either Helping Hands location will receive a discount on one item within their store.
