Topics of conversation in Stamford

Tapestry, an evening dedicated to adult Jewish learning, will be presented at the Jewish Community Center of Stamford on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 6:45 p.m.

Sponsored by United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan and Darien (UJF), Tapestry will feature lectures on a host of topics relevant to Connecticut’s Jewish communities. Among the evening’s long list of renowned speakers: Rabbi Mark Dratch, one of Newsweek’s 2010 ‘Top 50’ rabbis and executive vice president of the Rabbinic Council of America (RCA), who will discuss “And All Our Children Are Above Average: The Perfection of Imperfection in Jewish Thought and Law;” Dr. Kareem Adeeb of the American Institute for Islamic and Arabic Studies, who will discuss “The Need for Spirituality;” and Sandy Weiner of LastFirstDate.com, known popularly as the “confidence and love coach for women over 40,” and radio show host of Blog Talk Radio, who will discuss “Jewish Dating: Merging Your Heart With Your Heritage.”

Participating local organizations include: the JCC, Congregation Agudath Sholom, the Stamford JCC, University of Connecticut at Stamford, Temple Sinai, Carmel Academy, Chabad of Stamford, Congregation Beth El, Bi-Cultural Day School, AIPAC – Southern Connecticut, and the Jewish High School of Connecticut.
