SCHNUR

William Schnur, 91, of West Hartford died Nov. 2. He was the husband of Doris (Handelman) Schnur. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Jacob and Rebecca Schnur. A World War II veteran, he was wounded in battle and awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. In 2011 he was awarded the Legion of Honor by France for his contribution to the liberation of France. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Donald N. Schnur and his wife Toni of West Hartford, Alan Schnur and his wife Deborah of Clinton, and Elizabeth Lucyk and her husband Mark of West Hartford; his grandchildren, Craig Schnur, Jason Schnur, Jessica Schnur, Alex Lucyk, Sam Lucyk and Charlie Lucyk; and his great-grandson, Anthony Schnur. He was also predeceased by his son, Michael Schnur, and his sisters, Rose Ehrlich and Helen Satlin. WEINSTEIN MORTUARY
