About 20 teen members of National Council of Synagogue Youth (NCSY) of New England and JSU (Jewish Student Union) of West Hartford joined forces for an “Extreme Shabbat Makeover” Shabbaton at United Synagogues of Greater Hartford on Dec.18-19.  Extreme Shabbat Makeover is a new project that brings teen leaders and advisors to smaller communities and synagogues throughout New England. The teens take over – leading services, giving d’var Torahs, teaching and organizing activities for local middle and high school students. The program concluded with a lively Havdalah service. For more information on bringing the “Extreme Shabbat Makeover” van to your Connecticut shul or community in New England contact newengland@ncsy.org, or (617) 332-6279.
