Art & the Bible in West Hartford

Art lovers traveled to West Hartford from as far afield as Rhode Island and New York on Monday, May 16, to hear award-winning artist Beth S. Goldberg discuss her biblical art work at a presentation given at The Emanuel Synagogue. In his introduction, the synagogue’s spiritual leader, Rabbi David Small, compared Goldberg’s art work — which interprets biblical stories ranging from creation to Noah’s ark to the Burning Bush to Esther and Miriam, and more — to a “midrash” in which one searches for meaning and interpretation. An accomplished art therapist, educator and artist, Goldberg is an artist elect at the West Hartford Art League. Her art has been exhibited in galleries in Connecticut, New York, Florida and Washington, D.C., and is included in many prestigious collections.
