Dr. Herbert Silver, 84, of West Hartford, died Sept. 8. He was the husband of Judy Silver. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Ben and Sylvia (Weinstock) Silver. He served in the U.S. Army as a captain. He was an active member of The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Rand Silver and his wife Casey, and David Silver and his wife Heather; his grandsons, Hunter and Jack; and his nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Silver Kertzman.
