PJ Day for Kids in West Hartford

On Friday, Dec. 9, kids and teachers at the Mandell JCC’s Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early Childhood Center, Family Room Parenting Center and PJ Library in West Hartford wore pajamas to help raise money for patients at the Cancer Care Center of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. It was all part of PJ Day for the Kids, a day filled with fun activities that included a storybook reading by Mandell JCC Executive Director David Jacobs, PJ Library stories, arts and crafts, and refreshments. At the end of the day, for Shabbat, the children learned a lesson about Tzedakah: the joy that comes from giving. PJ Day for the Kids is an annual fundraising event launched in 2011 by a seven-year-old boy eager to give back for the lifesaving cancer care his sister received at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
