WEST HARTFORD – On Thursday, March 9, Prof. Ron Kiener of Trinity College addressed an enthusiastic crowd at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford on the topic of “Golda Meir’s Triumphs and Failings: When Labor Zionism Ruled the Jewish State.” This evening was in preparation for “Golda’s Balcony,” a one-woman play coming to The Emanuel on May 2, as part of a community-wide Israel celebration. Dr. Leon Chameides, adult education committee member and in-house history buff, appreciated the “excellent and well-balanced presentation, which listed Golda Meir’s many accomplishments but did not ignore some questionable areas of judgment, especially when she was Prime Minister.” Shown here are, from left to right, Gail Adler, Ron Kiener and Leon Chameides.
