Women’s mission gives a rare glimpse into the lives of IDF soldiers

Connecticut supporters of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) were among 32 women from around the U.S. to go on the first-ever FIDF Women’s Mission to Israel from March 3-10. Eleanor Goudis and FIDF Connecticut Board Member Ella Gurevich, both of Westport, and Judy Wolf of New Haven went on the mission where they received in-depth briefings by senior military officers, took a special tour of the Knesset building in Jerusalem with Member of Knesset Dr. Anat Berko, heard from Israeli women inventors and trailblazers who have changed the face of Israeli society, and toured strategic IDF bases to get a behind-the-scenes look into the Israeli military. Shown here are a group of women from Connecticut and Westchester, N.Y. who participated in the mission at an IDF search and rescue base near Zikim, Israel.
