#WeRemember

Senator Richard Blumenthal was among the more than 250 community members to attend a ceremony commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Held at the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford and hosted by Voices of Hope, a group for children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors, the Jan. 28 event marked the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In recognition of his many acts of kindness, Ben Cooper, a World War II medic who helped in the liberation of Dachau, was presented with the Voices of Hope Chesed Award, and local teens presented red roses to the 25 Holocaust survivors in attendance. #WeRemember signs were proudly held up by all at the conclusion of the program.
