Joan Z. Mandell, 87, of Simsbury, died Nov. 29. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of Molly Eager Mandell. She was one of the last remaining survivors of the Hartford circus fire. She is survived by her cousins, Gerald A. Roisman and Karen Eager Aspenwall; her close friend and caregiver, Sylvia Jennings; and other friends and family.
