Guta Fischel, 94, died Aug. 28. She was the wife of David Fischel. Born in Lodz, Poland, she was the daughter of Paltiel and Rachel Litera. A Holocaust survivor, she lived in the Warsaw and Lodz Ghettos with her mother and younger sister Edga. The three were liberated from Dachau together. Guta’s father, grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins were among the six million Jews killed. She is survived by her children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
