West Hartford resident Barbara Gordon recently hosted her eighth annual party celebrating her seventh year as a cancer survivor. The event, which benefits the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center at Saint Francis Hospital, was held at the new state-of-the-art health center. Co-hosted by Gordon’s daughter, Tracy Fox, a resident of Colchester and a Saint Francis nurse, the annual parties have raised a total of more than $100,000 in support of cancer programs at Saint Francis. Billed as “An Evening in Italy,” the June 10 event featured music by Dan Gable and the Able Tones and a pasta dinner prepared and served by members of the West Hartford Firefighters Local 1241.
