Bakery training young adults with disabilities now accepting applications

FAIRFIELD COUNTY – Circle of Friends serving Fairfield County is accepting applications for the Crumb Together Bakery program which trains adults with disabilities to be certified for employment in the bakery industry. At Crumb Together Bakery, trainees have the opportunity to develop professional skills, build self-esteem, and socialize and become productive members of the community, while at the same time producing baked goods under the guidance of credentialed chefs.

According to the latest data available, 75% of adults with disabilities are unemployed. The Crumb Together Bakery training program provides young adults with disabilities the opportunity to secure for meaningful employment.

The Crumb Together Bakery program was founded and is directed by Freida Hecht, who is director of Circle of Friends of Fairfield County.
