Temple Beth Hillel (TBH) in South Windsor, kicked off its year-long celebration of the shul’s jubilee anniversary on Nov. 5 with a pot luck dinner followed by Friday evening services, featuring guest speaker Rabbi Steven Chatinover, formerly of TBH and currently a teacher at Solomon Schechter Day School in West Hartford.
Congregant Marion Berman dedicated a Torah cover in memory of her husband, Steven Berman. On Saturday, artist-in-residence Mordechai Rosenstein of Philadelphia, discussed some of the commissioned art pieces he created for the Clintons and the Bushes. During his visit he created a special piece in which he incorporated members’ brushstrokes. On Sunday he helped religious school students create masterpieces of their own.
