More than 65 guests, including Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia, gathered recently at Kosh – Stamford’s new kosher bistro – to join in the celebration of the centennial of Hadassah: The Women’s Zionist Organization of America.  Hosted by Stamford Hadassah on Monday, June 4, the evening paid special tribute to the organization’s founder, the late Henrietta Szold. In her honor, Kosh proprietor Glenn Karow partnered with Hadassah to launch a new menu item called, what else, the “Henrietta Szold” – a platter featuring Hungarian stuffed cabbage, served with Israeli salad and a side of mashed potatoes. Born in Baltimore, Szold’s father, Rabbi Benjamin Szold, was born in Hungary. The year-long celebration of Hadassah’s centennial will culminate in Jerusalem this coming October at the organization’s convention, when Hadassah will formally dedicate Hadassah Hospital’s new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower.
