Breast Cancer Symposium in Darien on Oct. 7

STAMFORD – Jewish Family Service of Stamford (JFS), in partnership with Whole Foods Market of Darien and the Stamford JCC, will present the Wellness Symposium Commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Monday, Oct. 7, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The program, which will be held at the Whole Foods Market, 150 Ledge Road in Darien, will address issues in general health and well-being through four 30-minute presentations, followed by questions from attendees. The seminar is presented in memory of Netta Stern, former JFS psychotherapist and director of clinical services.

Guest speakers include: Raema Salmon, a teacher and a certified nutritional counselor in South Africa; Lori Price, Stamford JCC managing director of sports, fitness and aquatics; Fran Dorf, therapist and author; and Danielle Singer, MS, a genetic counselor at Sharsheret, the national group providing resources and support to Jewish women with breast cancer or those who have been diagnosed or at high risk of developing this type of cancer.
