Carol (Hecker) Tubis, 83, of Avon, died Feb. 16.  She was the widow of Melvin Tubis.  Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Bertha and Morris Hecker.  She is survived by her children, Sheila Diamond and her husband David of Avon, Michael Tubis of Greenwich, and Nina Ward of Humble, Tex.; her grandchildren, Mara Diamond, Andrew Diamond, Daniel Ward, Jason Ward and Matthew Fromer; and her great-grandchildren Marcus Ward, Jonny Ward and Alina Ward.
