In the swim in Hartford

Twenty-one members of the Mandell JCC’s Sharks Swim Team were honored at the annual banquet of Connecticut Swimming, the local governing body for competitive swimming in the state of Connecticut. The Sharks swimmers were among the top 16 swimmers in each event for the 2013-2014 swim season honored at the event.

Honorees included Jamie Amell, Mitchell Baboff, Gracey Boman, Ethan Brown, Tahlia Crowley, Maddie Crowley, Kobe Dominguez, Samantha Hagberg, Maddie Hagberg, Ian Harker, Patrick Keith, Will Layden, Charlotte Otis, Alissa Palmer, Mason Revis, Jett Rosner, Erin Shea, Jack Wassik and Ben Zamstein.

In addition, two former Sharks swimmers were also honored: Abbey Fusco is a freshman at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and Maggie Purvis is a freshman at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Both girls swim for their respective schools.

Also honored were Mason Revis, a Junior National Qualifier and Tahlia Crowley, a member of the Connecticut zone relay team who broke a zone record in March 2014.

Coach Dave Laudati applauded the efforts of all the JCC swimmers. “I am very proud of the work of all of the Sharks and even more excited about the future of the team,” he said.
