Alvin Murray, 94, of New Haven, died March 2. He was the husband of Nancy Murray. He was born on October 6, 1920, in New Haven. During World War II, he served as a gunnery officer on a destroyer in the Pacific from June 1943 until April 1946. He was awarded the Pacific Theater ribbon with three bronze stars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carla Murray, of Nyack, N.Y., and Mark Murray and his wife, Holly of Cheshire; and his granddaughter, Amanda, of Cheshire.
