Irwin Mandel z”l, 90, of West Hartford, died May 12. He was the widower of Lillian (Cohen) Mandel. Born in France, he was the son of Nathan and Pauline Mandel. He was a past member of the Young Israel of West Hartford. He is survived by his sons, Rabbi Steven Mandel and his wife Marlene of Skokie, Ill., Jeffrey Mandel and his wife Jennifer of Boston, Mass., Kenneth Mandel and his wife Susan of Elizabeth, N.J., and Seth Mandel of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his sister, Selma Greenberger and her husband Julius of Stratford; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and his special friend Ellie Young of West Hartford.
