Scott Snow to head Mandell JCC’s summer tennis program

WEST HARTFORD – Tennis professional Scott Snow, a USTPA (United States Tennis Professional Association) certified instructor, will lead the Mandell JCC Swim & Tennis Club’s summer tennis program, it was announced recently. Located in Bloomfield, the Club’s 2015 Tennis Season runs from May 1 through Sept. 7, with asphalt courts opening May 4 and Har-Tru courts opening May 23.

Snow, who has more than 30 years of teaching experience, has been ranked #1 in New England doubles tennis 10 times and is currently ranked #1 in men’s 35 and 45 doubles. He has been ranked as high as #3 in singles in New England #5 in 35-and-over doubles, and #27 in singles nationally.

In addition to overseeing various children and adult tennis programs, as well as three adult inter-club teams, Snow will be the lead instructor for the JCC’s Tennis Jam Summer Camp for children in grades 1-8, with weekly camps offered June 15 – August 21.

“I really hope to develop a junior program that will eventually lead to a Junior Inter Club League,” Snow says.
