Herbert Silverman, z”l, 80, of Newington, died June 20. He was the husband of Carolee Salowitz. Born in New York, he was the son of Reuben and Freda (Piatek) Silverman. He served in both the U.S. Army and Navy Reserves. He was a member of Temple Sinai in Newington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Charlie Silverman and his wife Jennifer of Farmington, Jay Silverman and his wife Evelyn of Berlin, and Robert Silverman of Pasadena, Calif.; his grandchildren, Jared, Nick, Devin, Brianna, Alex, and Noah; his sister, Barbara Seigel; and his niece and nephews.
