Feeding the hungry

The Brotherhood of Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford recently presented a donation to the Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry at Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford (JFS). “We’re proud to be part of JFS’ helping tradition, which is made possible by the volunteer efforts of our Brothers,” said Bob Tellar, the Brotherhood’s chief communications officer, in presenting the check. JFS Executive Director Anne Danaher noted that support from the community allows JFS to keep the pantry shelves filled and to distribute hundreds of bags of food each month to our hungry clients, friends, and neighbors. “Food insecurity is a real issue,” she explained.
