New course examines the Six Day War, on the eve of its 50th anniversary  

WEST HARTFORD – “Survival of a Nation: Exploring Israel Through the Lens of the Six Day War” is the topic of a six-session course to be held Mondays at 7:30 p.m. beginning May 15 at the Chabad House, 2352 Albany Ave. in West Hartford. The course examines the Six Day War and related topics that remain controversial even today. Topics include: Israel as the Jewish homeland; the prevalence of worldwide anti-Israel sentiment; the ethics of preemptive strikes and collateral damage; protecting Israel from an enemy that hides behind human shields; what to do about captured territories; and factors that lie at the heart of the land-for-peace debate.

Fee for the series is $99. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
