14th Shorline Jewish Festival on Guilford Green

GUILFORD – The 14th Annual Shoreline Jewish Festival will take place Sunday, July 14, 12 noon-5 PM on the Guilford Green. The festival will feature various styles of Jewish  music, traditional and Israeli fair food (all kosher), an art and book sale, and children’s crafts and activities. This year’s musical lineup includes performances by Yoni Stokar & The Sixth Street Band, Yiddishkeit Klezmer Ensemble and White Shabbos. For families with children, Talking Hands Theater will present storytelling with puppets.

Yoni Stokar & the Sixth Street Band blends traditional Jewish melodies with jam-band improvisation. Soul meets soulful in this high-energy experience!

Yiddishkeit Klezmer Ensemble brings to life the old-world klezmer sound of clarinet, accordion, fiddle, trombone and vocals. Their melodies – both traditional and original melodies – dance right into the heart and soul of the audience.

White Shabbos creates a unique combination of Jewish/biblical lyrics with bluegrass, rockabilly music. For the young– and the young at heart – White Shabbos leads an  interactive sing-along show that is guaranteed to get everyone up on their feet and dancing.

Talking Hands Theater brings Biblical adventures, Jewish folk tales and Chasidic stories to life. Anna Sobel and her handmade puppets entertain children by engaging their minds, imaginations and senses of humor.

In addition to entertainment, artists, artisans and vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of Judaica, jewelry, clothing, artwork, books, videos and games of Jewish interest for both children and adults. Festival-goers can choose from a variety of (kosher) fair favorites, including hamburgers, hot dogs, falafel, schwarma grilled chicken, potato knishes, homemade doughnuts, cotton candy, snow cones and more.

Children’s activities also include inflatable bouncy fun, as well as Jewish-themed arts and crafts projects.

Admission is FREE ($85 to reserve a booth). Food, crafts, and vendor items are for sale. For information, visit www.shorelinejewishfestival.com and facebook.com/ShorelineJewishFestival. To reserve a booth, contact Rabbi Yaffe at (203) 533-7495 or at chabad@snet.net.
