Hospice Volunteers Needed

Hebrew Health Care Hospice is seeking individuals who would like to share their time and talents with hospice patients in a variety of settings. Hospice volunteers help patients and families cope with the challenges of terminal illness. Volunteers may work in a facility, private home or hospital. Activities may include pet therapy visits, music, singing, reading, discussing hobbies, alternative healing methods, life stories, just sitting quietly, and more. Volunteers are required to complete 20 hours of orientation training and attend 12 additional hours per year of in-service continuing education. Training begins mid-March and runs through mid-April. For more information contact Jill Levin, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, at (860) 929-7921 or jlevin@hebrewhealthcare.org. Online applications are available at www.hebrewhealthcare.org.
