Herman R. (“Shep”) Shepherd, 89, of New Canaan, died March 28. He was the husband of Carol Ruth Shepherd. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John of Easton. Marjorie Loeper of Ocean City, N.J., Beth Peters of New Canaan and Benjamin of Cambridge, Mass.; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and his sister Laura Surks of West Hartford.
