JHSGH: Interviewers & videographers needed

From the Society's website: Hartford Live Fish Market, Windsor Street, 1920s. Left to right: Sam "the fish man" Smith, manager and William Schwartz, proprietor

The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford is seeking volunteer interviewers and videographers to help with several on-going oral history projects. Training will be provided.

The Society has three oral history initiatives underway at the present time: testimonies by Holocaust survivors; anecdotes about Hartford’s neighborhoods for a second volume of Hartford memories; and the stories of Jewish war veterans in collaboration with Central Connecticut State University and the Library of Congress.

Those interested in helping to save these precious accounts for the future should contact Bea Brodie at (860) 727-6170 or bbrodie@jewishhartford.org
